  • 50 British pounds
  • Wild Box Studio, Whitehouse Pl, BS34BL

Service Description

Join author Lucy Christopher and yoga teacher Ash Bond in a one day writing retreat to immerse in a creative, joyful exploration of the wild within us all. 11am-5pm at Wild Box Studio in Bristol. For many of us these past months have been a time of shift, of metamorphosis and of watching much of our familiar patterns and routines fall away. We find ourselves in a new and unfamiliar landscape; in a space in between. The questions we might be asking at this moment are: How can I move forward? What do I want for this next step? What can I bring with me? What can I leave behind? Lucy and Ash will use writing prompts, journal exercises, visualisation and yoga-inspired movement to invite us to investigate and lean into our own intuition, our deep knowing, and search for landmarks to nudge us forward on our next steps. Expect a warm, friendly and safe space to write, ask, discuss and move. All questions, and experience welcome. A beautiful gift to yourself or another. £50 per person or £85 for two £35 for £13+ Patreons The Location? Wild Box is a spacious, well-ventilated haven just ten minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads. With all props provided and designed in the Wild Wolf signature effortless style, this serves as a perfect location for our day retreat. Wild Box is also just a few minutes walk from cafes (a favourite being Bristol Loaf and Harts Bakery) but if you would like to bring lunch with you, it would be wonderful to spend some extra time talking with you while we eat. Lucy Christopher Award-winning author of books for both adults and young people, Dr Lucy Christopher is also a Senior lecturer in Creative Writing at Tasmania University. Ash says: I met Lucy at an Arvon course where she was teaching a course on Writing for Young Adults. I was so inspired by her enthusiasm, generosity and teaching style that I went on to study the Masters in Writing for Young People of which she was Course Director. Lucy was famous amongst the students for her workshops on writing setting; on writing from place; on writing the wild. Her debut Stolen (2013) won the Michael L. Printz Honor and the Branford Boase award. Other titles include Flyaway (2013), Storm Wake (2018), Shadow (2019) and The Queen on Our Corner (2021). Find out more about Lucy on lucychristopher.com I am so humbled and thrilled to be working with Lucy and to offer up a workshop combining our creative passions, both writing and movement. A journal will be gifted to you.
